Do you need a more granular way to view how a Project is being configured? Reports giving you too much oversight, but not enough detail? This is where the Project Budget Information components in Precursive can help!

Budget Information Overview

The default Precursive Project Lightning Page Layout includes a pre-configured Budget Information tab by default, which will be referred to in the screenshots below.

If the appearance or configuration of this tab appears different to you - or does not appear at all - it is likely you are using a custom implementation of this feature in your Org, with the default layout not currently assigned (or in use). The ability to configure your Budget Information via Lightning App Builder is one of it's greatest strengths, and so is the visibility of all (or specific) elements to key persons in the business. It's is all down to what fits your company at any given time.

Custom Components for Budget Information

The Budget Information tab consists of the following individual components, all of which are available in recent versions of Precursive. If you are unable to see these components when editing a Precursive Project page in Lightning App Builder, please contact Precursive Support, as you may need to upgrade to a newer version of the product:

Precursive Project Budget Name

This is a text-only component that allows for labels to be displayed in one, both, or none of the 'Title' fields - eg. if you just require a non-functional spacer between other elements. You can configure this setting in the options panel of the Lightning App Builder when editing the page layout.

Precursive Project Budget Refresh

The inclusion of this invisible component on the page is necessary to trigger a refresh of the values displayed in the Precursive Budget Value component whenever the Salesforce page is refreshed in your browser. This component serves as a spacer and ensures proper alignment between other components on the page. It is an ideal choice to fulfil this specific requirement.

This component is not included in the default Precursive Project layout to avoid potential loading delays. The Precursive Budget Value components are updated in line with the Calculate Budget background process, scheduled every 15 minutes or manually triggered through Precursive HQ.

Precursive Project Budget Value

The Precursive Project Budget Value component is the core feature used in creating Budget Information tabs, to retrieve project-related values. It is divided into left and right fields, which determine the displayed information.

	Color Icon Color of the Icon Left field set below
	Background Color Icon Color of the Tile 'behind' the icon.
	Icon Left Uses Salesforce's Lightning Design System Icons format to return an illustrative image for the left-hand field in the component.
	Label Left Left-hand label field displaying text to describe what the Field Name value is returning.
	Field Name Left The Field Name Left field utilises API Name references to view Salesforce, Custom, or Precursive fields. While Currency is the default option, other data types can be selected from the Unit picklist(s) configurable in a lower section of the options.
	Field Name Left (org currency) This functionality applies when Precursive Multi-Currency is enabled in your Salesforce org. It comes into play when the project currency differs from the default currency set in your Salesforce Org. By default, Precursive provides an Org Currency field for this functionality, but you have the need to replace it with a custom field that better aligns with your company's needs, this is where you would replace this in the Project Budget Value component.
	Unit Select from the following options if your above field needs to be represented differently to Currency - the default value: Currency (Default) Number Percentage Hours Days
	Currency Position Positions the Currency icon to either the left (default) or right of the value returned in the component.
	Org Currency Position Positions the Currency icon for the Org Currency field to either the left (default) or right of the value returned in the component.
	Icon Right Uses Salesforce's Lightning Design System Icons format to return an illustrative image for the right-hand field in the component.
	Label Right Right-hand label field displaying text to describe what the Field Name value is returning.
	Field Name Right Uses API Name reference to view Salesforce, Custom or Precursive field. Though Currency is the default option, other data types can be selected from the Unit picklists lower in the options.
	Field Name Right (org currency) Applies when Precursive Multi-Currency is active in your Org, and will be referred to when the Project has a currency different to the Org Default currency is used. Precursive has an Org Currency field already in place here, but you can replace it with a custom field if this works better for your company.
