Record Lists

Record Lists show a filtered set of records for an object. You define the filter logic, which fields to display, and how they’re styled—all declaratively.

How to Configure a Record List

There are two types of record lists:

• Home Page Lists (not tied to a record)

• Record Page Lists (contextual to the current record)

1. Define List Metadata

Navigate to: Setup > Custom Metadata Types > Home Page Related List / Record Page Related List > Manage Records

Create a record with:

• Label: Label for the Home Page or Record Page Related List (e.g. My Open Cases)
• Title: Display title
• Object API Name: e.g. Case
• Query Filter: SOQL WHERE clause
  • Dynamic filter variables supported:
    • {{UserId}}: Current user's ID
    • {{UserAccountId}}: Account for logged-in community users
    • {{UserContactId}}: Contact for logged-in community users
• Sort Field API Name: Default sort field
• Sort Direction: Default sort direction
• Icon: SLDS icon (e.g. standard:account)
• Icon Background Color: Custom color (optional)
• Empty State Message: Message to appear when no results.

2. Add Fields for Record Lists

After configuring your Home Page Related List or Record Page Related List, you’ll define which fields appear in the list using:

• Home Page Related List Field
• Record Page Related List Field

Navigate to: Setup > Custom Metadata Types > Home Page Related List Field / Record Page Related List Field > Manage Records

For each field:

• Select the Record Page Related List (or Home Page Related List)

• Field API Name: Enter the Field API Name (e.g., Name, Amount, CloseDate)
  • Tip: Relationship fields like Account.Name or Owner.Name are supported.
• Field:
  • Optionally, use the Field Custom Metadata lookup to define:
    • A custom label override (e.g., “Company Name” instead of “Account Name”)
    • Help text to display on hover
• Order: Set the display order
• Is Hyperlink: Should the field show as a link.
• Wrap Text: Controls the wrapping of long text fields

Record Forms

Record Forms provide a curated layout of fields from a record, replacing or supplementing the standard record detail component. You choose the fields, layout, labels, and styling.

How to Configure a Record Form

Create a Form Configuration

Navigate to: Setup > Custom Metadata Types > Record Form > Manage Records

Define:

• Title: Form section header

• Icon: SLDS icon (e.g. standard:account)
• Icon Background Color: Custom color (optional)
• Show Help Text: Option to show Help Text icon next to fields.

Add Fields to Form

Navigate to: Setup > Record Form Field > Manage Records

For each field:

• Label: Provide a Label for the Record Form Field, suggest to include the Record From Name with the Field name as a suffix e.g. (Account Snapshot - Account Name)
• Record Form: Select the Record Form Custom Meta data
• Field API Name: Enter the Field API Name (e.g., Name, Amount, CloseDate)
  • Tip: Relationship fields like Account.Name or Owner.Name are supported.
• Field:
  • Optionally, use the Field Custom Metadata lookup to define:
    • A custom label override (e.g., “Company Name” instead of “Account Name”)
    • Help text to display on hover
• Order: to control display
