By using the clone functionality, you can easily clone Precursive Projects and Phases, or quickly Create a Project Template that can be used as a starting point for future projects. This can be particularly useful when working on similar projects or when using a consistent project structure.When cloning a Project or Phase you can decide what information should be copied into the new records (Phases, Activity Categories, Participants, Bookings, Assigned Resources and Expense Categories) and quickly build your baseline.Note - If you cannot see the 'Clone' button when following the steps below, please reach out to your internal Precursive or Salesforce Admin. This functionality needs to be configured by them first. Please see Enabling Project Cloning for more information. Project Cloning Prerequisites Project, Phase and Participant cloning features require the separate Precursive Template package to be installed on your org. If this package is not installed, please reach out to the Precursive Support team for a link to the most-recent version before attempting to follow the rest of this article. How to Clone Precursive Projects Navigate to the Project record that you want to cloneClick the button 'Clone Project'Select a Start Date for the new Phase and what Records related to the Template Project should be cloned (again, you may have less options to select from than displayed below - that's totally fine: just select what is relevant for you) and click 'Next'Click 'Start Cloning' - Do not close the page until the process is complete!Click 'Finish' As a result of this process, a new Precursive Project is created with the selected related records. After the process is complete, you are redirected to this new Project record and you can make any edits and adjustment you see fit. How to Clone Phases Navigate to the Phase record that you want to cloneClick the button 'Clone Phase'Select what Records related to the Template Project should be cloned (again, you may have less options to select from than displayed below - that's totally fine: just select what is relevant for you) and click 'Next'Click 'Start Cloning' - Do not close the page until the process is complete!Click 'Finish' As a result of this process, a new Phase is created within that Project with the selected related records. After the process is complete, you are redirected to this new Phase record and you can make any edits and adjustment you see fit.
