Contractor Workspace is a secure portal for individual contractors and consultants delivering work on your Projects. It gives them a focused view of their own Tasks, Time, and Expenses without exposing the rest of your Salesforce org.

Technically, Contractor Workspace runs on the same infrastructure as Partner Workspace - same license, same permission set group, same profile, same Project Access Level model. The distinction between the two is entirely about who's on the other end: an individual contractor managing their own defined scope of work, versus a delivery partner organisation running a larger piece of the Project. Because the use case is different enough to cause confusion if left undocumented, it gets its own article here - even though nothing is configured differently underneath.

Start Working with Your Contractors

Make sure you have followed the steps to "Build your Partner Workspace Experience" - Contractor Workspace uses the same Experience Cloud site build.

Create a Contractor Contact as a User

1. Navigate to the Contractor's Contact record, then select "Enable Customer User."
2. From the New User page, select User License: Customer Community Plus, Profile: Precursive Partner Workspace.
3. Define other fields as required, such as Email and Username.
4. Click Save. Your User Access Policies should automatically assign the license and permission set group, and the contractor will receive a welcome email if the site is published.

Create a Contractor Contact as a Resource

1. Navigate to Precursive HQ > Resources and select New.
2. Choose the "From Contact" tab, then search for your Contractor's Contact.
3. Assign a Supervisor to approve their Timesheets, enable "Schedule Resource," and assign an appropriate Role.
4. Click Save.

Add a Contractor to a Project

Add the Contractor as a Participant on the relevant Phase, with a Project Access Level scoped to their assigned tasks. Once assigned, they can access their work from the Contractor Workspace.

Contractor Workspace shares Partner Workspace's underlying setup by design - not a placeholder pending a future dedicated build.
