(PSX) Default Activity & Expenses Categories

When your projects should have the same activity and expenses categories, you can set them up as defaults so that your Project Managers don't have to add it manually for each project.

    When your projects should have the same set of activity or expense categories, you can set them up as defaults which will add them to all  newly created projects automatically.

    To do this, navigate to Setup and select Developer Console from the drop-down menu. Select Debug from the top of the window and then Open Execute Anonymous Window. When the new window appears use one of the following codes to set up the defaults, just replace their names with your own and select Execute. Run those for each of the defaults you want to add.

    Default Activity Categories:
     
    preempt__ActivityCategory__c activityCategory = new preempt__ActivityCategory__c(preempt__activityCategoryName__c = 'ACTIVITYCATEGORYNAME', preempt__default__c = true); 
    insert activityCategory; 

    Default Expense Categories:
     
    preempt__ExpenseCategory__c expenseCategory = new 
    preempt__ExpenseCategory__c(name = 'EXPENSECATEGORYNAME', preempt__default__c = true); 
    insert expenseCategory;
