How to use Participants' Custom Fields

You can define what kind of fields might be helpful for your organization to be available and visible in the Participant's details. This can be, for example, an estimated budget, suggested person or primary skill.

Those can be then edited and viewed:

  • on the Phase page when you add or edit a participant or request

To add some custom fields, first you will need to create them in your Salesforce environment:
  1. Navigate to Setup -> Object Manager -> Participant object
  2. Select ‘Fields & Relationships’ and then New
  3. Select the field type and click Next
  4. Add in a Label and Name (field API). Depending on the field type, you might see some additional settings related to your field, then go Next
  5. Select which profiles should have access to this field and move to the next screen
  6. Confirm if you also want to add this field to the Participant's Details layout and select Save.
Add your custom fields to the field set.
  1. In Setup -> Object Manager -> Participant object select 'Field Sets'
  2. Click on Participant Modal Fields
  3. Drag and drop fields to the field set and Save.
Note - We do not recommend marking your Participant's custom fields Required. Creating completely new bookings for a Resource might require creating the Participant in the background, which may cause issues when the fields are required. Precursive supports all field types beside Rich Text (Text Area - Rich).
