How Licensing Works

Precursive AI is licensed on a per-agent basis. Each Zen Agent you want to run requires its own active entitlement. Each entitlement is independently licensed based on the depth of analysis the agent performs - what the agent can do, how much data it can process per request and per week, and how many insights or recommendations it can generate each week.

There is no per-user fee. Insights generated by a Zen Agent can be shared with any number of recipients and viewed by any user with the Precursive AI Standard permission set.

Zen Agent vs Zen Max Agent

There are two entitlement types, designed for different use cases.

In plain terms: if your agent focuses on a single record and its immediate context, a Zen Agent entitlement is the right fit. If your agent needs to digest a full account or portfolio picture, a Zen Max Agent entitlement is required.

What Entitlements Control

Each entitlement defines the following:

• Weekly request limit - how many LLM calls the agent can make per week. Generating an insight counts as one request. Generating action recommendations counts as a separate request for each action. If an agent generates both an insight and action recommendations for the same record, that is two requests.
• Weekly context limit - the total volume of text the agent can read across all requests in the week, measured in LLM tokens (roughly one token per word). Zen Agents are sized for standard weekly workloads. Zen Max Agents are sized for high-volume or data-heavy workloads.
• Per-request context limit - the maximum amount of text the agent can consider for a single record. Zen Agents support focused analysis of a single record and its related data. Zen Max Agents support full account history or full portfolio analysis, handling significantly larger volumes of context per request.
• Insights enabled / Actions enabled - each capability can be toggled independently per entitlement. Insights covers generating the AI-written analysis. Actions covers generating recommended actions and (in Autonomous mode) executing them. An entitlement can have one enabled, the other, or both.

When a weekly limit is reached, the agent pauses until the next weekly reset. You can monitor current usage on the entitlement record.

Entitlement Statuses

An entitlement can have one of the following statuses:

• Active - the agent can run normally
• Suspended - the entitlement was previously active but is no longer recognised by Precursive's provisioning system. The agent is automatically paused.
• Expired - the entitlement's validity period has passed
• Revoked - the entitlement has been cancelled by Precursive
• Invalid - the entitlement configuration is not valid

Only Active entitlements allow a linked Zen Agent to run on a schedule.

How Entitlements Are Provisioned

Entitlements are provisioned from Precursive and pulled into your Salesforce org automatically. The refresh runs before each scheduled digest and is skipped if a refresh has already occurred within the last 60 minutes. You can also trigger a manual refresh from Precursive AI Settings at any time.

You cannot create or modify entitlement records manually - they are managed through the provisioning process. Any entitlement present in your org that is not returned in a refresh response is automatically suspended.

To view your entitlements:

1. Go to the App Launcher in Salesforce
2. Search for Zen Agent Entitlements
3. Review the list of entitlements, their statuses, and their associated agents

You can also see a summary of your active entitlements and current usage directly in Precursive AI Settings. This is a useful first stop to understand what is available to you before configuring new agents.

Linking an Entitlement to a Zen Agent

Each Zen Agent must be linked to an active entitlement before it can run. If an agent does not have an active entitlement linked, scheduled runs are skipped and on-demand refreshes from the Precursive AI component will return an error: "This agent does not have an active entitlement. Please provision an entitlement before running."

The Preview action on the Zen Agent record bypasses entitlement checks so you can validate configuration before an entitlement is in place. All other run paths (scheduled batches and on-demand Refresh from the component) enforce entitlements.

To link an entitlement, open the Zen Agent record and select the appropriate entitlement from the Entitlement field. Only active entitlements are valid.

If an entitlement is suspended, expired, revoked, or becomes invalid, all linked Zen Agents are automatically deactivated.

Sandbox Behaviour

Entitlements are shared between your production org and sandboxes. Usage consumed in a sandbox counts against the same weekly limits as production. Plan sandbox testing accordingly to avoid consuming production capacity.

Monitoring Usage

Each entitlement tracks two usage counters:

• Requests used this week - incremented each time the agent makes an LLM call.
• Context read this week - the total volume of text the agent has read this week, measured in LLM tokens.

Usage is tracked and synced between your Salesforce org and the Precursive backend. When a weekly limit is reached, the agent pauses until the next weekly reset.

To review usage for a specific agent, open the linked entitlement record and check the Usage tab. It shows current week figures against the configured limits, and the timestamp of the last usage sync.
