You can add a Precursive Board Process Path to your Precursive Board Types (Set-up Precursive Board Types) and link each stage to a set of Tasks in your Task Templates (Task Template Cheat Sheet) for it to automatically update and mark the current Stage of your progress.

This article is a step-by-step guide on how you can build a Board Process Path in Precursive.

How to Build a Board Process Path

Create a list of all the Stages you would like to appear in your Process Path and then follow the 3 steps below:

Step 1 - Create Picklist Values in the Salesforce Setup

Make sure all the Stages you want to create are already part of the Picklist Value Set for the 'Board Stage' in yourv Salesforce Setup.

Please see this How to add New Picklist Values for Stages and Team Roles guide.

Step 2 - Build it in Precursive

You can now start putting the Stages together to create your Process Path:

  1. Go to the 'Precursive Board Process' Tab in Salesforce bpp.png
  2. Click 'New' on the left-hand side of the top bar, fill the 'Name' field and tick the 'Active' checkbox in the windows that opens upbbp1.png
  3. Start adding your Stage by filling all the relevant fields in the form:bpp3.png
1. Mark all Stages 'Active'
2. Insert the Name you want displayed in your Process Path for that Stage
3. Select the relevant value from the Picklist (if it doesn't appear, go back to the 'Step 1' section of this article
4. The Order indicates the position of the Stage in your Process Path, 1 is the far left - for example, if you want to add a 'Handover' stage to happen and display before the 'Kickoff' stage, you can enter the number 1 for the Handover stage and the number 2 for the Kickoff stage in this field.
5. If you add a 'Backlog' stage for example, you can mark that as 'Inactive'. Otherwise, you can mark all the stages as 'Active' status and then the last Stage as 'Complete' to mark the completion of the project
6. Leave this checkbox unticked for all the Stages except for the last one

Step 3 - Add it to your Precursive Board Types

You can now add your newly-build Process Path to your Board Types by editing the existing ones from the 'Precursive Board Types' Tab o creating a new one

Please follow this guide on how to Set-up Precursive Board Types for more information.
