InformationTitle(OBX) Create & Manage Custom LabelsURL NameCreate-Manage-Custom-Labels-1610727790668BodyPrecursive Custom Labels help you turn any field (including a lookup to another record) into a label on the Task Card. You can create custom fields for Precursive Tasks to highlight important information and use Custom Labels to define how that information is made visible on the Task Card (including icon, color and the label itself). The Custom Label is not like a Category (Precursive Task Categories) that can be added to a Task by editing it: Custom Labels define how a specific field is displayed on the Tasks.Custom Labels could reference a standard or custom field on your Task or even a standard or custom field of a related record. You could have a picklist field for the type of Task, or having a lookup to a custom object for example - you could have Tasks linked to Contacts, Account or Locations which is where said Tasks need to happen. In this article we will see how you can create a custom label for a lookup field, choose which field from that record will display as the label (e.g. the name, address, or city) and what fields you can use to customize your labels. How to configure Custom Labels To create your Custom Labels, you need to start by creating a Lookup Field to relate it to your Object. To learn more about Objects Relationship, please visit this webpage. Once, you've created the needed Lookup Field, you can follow the steps below:1. Go to Custom Filter Tab (if you cannot see it, here is an article on how to personalize your Navigation Bar and here how to create tabs for Custom Objects). Once on the Tab, click New.2. On the Tab, fill in the below information and Save: Custom Labels Examples In this example, we are linking a Precursive Task to a Contact. We have created a Lookup Relationship field between the Precursive Task and the Contact name field using with the API Name ‘Contact__c’. The screenshot below shows the configuration of a Contact Custom Label. Following the screenshot is an explanation of each field. Looking at the Task Card, 'Wynne Gill' is a Custom Label. You can click on the label on the task to see more details about this Contact in the expandable Side Pane on the right. The value in the label can also be used to filter the Board to focus on Tasks related to this Contact. Fields definitions Here you can find a list of fields related to Custom Labels and relevant description. Field Description Name Name describes the Custom Label and will be displayed in the Filter search box on your Board. Owner Represents the record owner of the Custom Label. This has no impact on behaviour Order Order determines the order the Custom Label will appear on the Task Card and also the Order the Custom Label will appear in the Filter Box. Record to Reference‘Record to Reference’ defines which type of related record to display. In our example, we want to display a value from a related Contact. Display Field'Display field' is where you define which field within that record to display on the Task Card. Precursive OBX will display the value in that field when there is one associated with your Task. Style Fields Style determines the look of the Label with options to define Font color, background colour and an icon. Field Description Label font color The web color that should be used to on the Task Card Label. Definition of Web Colors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors Helpful Color Picker: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp Label Background color The web color that should be used to on the Task Card Label as the Background Color. When referencing Objects I recommend matching the Background colour to be the Tab color. Label icon Determines the Icon to be displayed on the label. The icon may be one of the 'glyphicons' from the following web page: http://getbootstrap.com/components/ Omit the 'glyphicon glyphicon-' part of the name and only provide the end. e.g. 'glass'. Fields Deprecated in Version 15.5 You may have previously come across certain fields that you can no longer find in your setup. That is because the following list of fields have been deprecated in version 15.5: Display on Task Card Checkbox to determine if the Label will be displayed on the Card. This can be used to create a Custom Label solely for the purpose of Filtering. E.g. We may create an Account Label for presentation and an Account Type Label for filtering. Enable PopoverCheckbox to determine if when the user hovers over the label they will see additional details about the record. These additional details can be configured within the page layout of the record. https://help.salesforce.com/HTViewSolution?id=000005180&language=en_USEnable Link on Task CardCheckbox to determine if the Label will be represented as a hyperlink to the record.
