Precursive Customer Workspace is powered by Salesforce Communities and provides a great way to connect and collaborate with customers and partners. Extending Precursive to your Customer or Partner Community can drive even further engagement, collaboration and accountability during their Onboarding, Implementation and ongoing Success. License Types

Precursive Customer Workspace requires a Salesforce Community Customer or Partner Community License which we refer to as the “Salesforce Community License”.

Precursive Customer Workspace requires two licenses to be active:

1. Salesforce Community License
2. Precursive Customer Workspace License

Salesforce Customer Community License

This Salesforce knowledge article described the differences between the “Salesforce Community Licenses”. There are essentially two decisions to make:

Login vs. Member-based: 

• Login-based licenses are based on daily unique logins. Login based licensing is beneficial for communities where there is a high volume of users and low or periodic engagement.
  
  The ratio between the number of monthly logins you purchase and the number of login licenses that are provisioned in your org is 1:20. For example, if you purchase 1,000 monthly logins, then 20,000 login licenses are provisioned in your org.
• Member-based licenses work just like internal Salesforce licenses here each Community User is assigned a license and being assigned that license uses one of the available licenses until their license is deactivated.

Non-Plus vs. Plus:

• Non-Plus: Licenses are designed for very high volume communities or where there are simpler record sharing requirements. 
• Plus Licenses can view Reports and Dashboards and support Advanced Record Sharing.

Example: A non-plus user will have visibility to all Boards shared with the Community whereas a “Plus” license supports the same fine-grained record sharing as internal users so can be configured to see all Boards shared with the Community or only those Boards they have specifically been assigned to.

Recommended Salesforce Customer Community License Licenses

For most customers we recommend Login-based Customer Community Licenses. To decide how many licenses you require is based on how many customers you estimate will be logging into your community in a single day.

Precursive Customer Workspace License

The Precursive Customer Workspace License is provisioned alongside  the “Salesforce Community License” to provide access to Precursive capability. Precursive will provision Precursive Customer Workspace Licenses based on the number of “Customer Community Platform License” to the following ratios:

• Login-based: 1:20
• Member-based: 1:1

This ratio matches the user licenses provisioned against each license type. This means that for Login-based licensing you will be provisioned more licenses than logins as it is anticipated that you not all customers will login on each day.
