(OBX) Manage Org-wide Application Settings

End Users are able to customize Application Settings from the Precursive OBX Tab, but you can also customize Org-wide settings from the Salesforce Set Up.

Let's say you want to customize the email notifications received by the Users. Or automatically calculate the duration, due dates, and lead/lag days of your Tasks according to your Organization’s working days. Or maybe you want Tasks' End Dates to be recalculated automatically to reflect their Complete Dates for all of your internal Boards. From the Salesforce Set up you can customize Org-wide settings relevant to your Boards Design, Scheduling, Notifications, Role Based Assignment, External Sharing and so on. Let's see how.

How to Manage Org-wide Application Settings

  1. Go to Salesforce Setup and enter "Installed Packages" in the Quick Find search box.

  2. Select Installed Packages

  3. Find Precursive OBX in the list of Installed Packages and click Configure User-added image

  4. Navigate the Precursive OBX Setting

Recalculate Tasks' End Date to reflect the Complete Date

Go to the 'Scheduling' Tab: there you will find 2 options that can be checked to have dependent tasks's Start Date automatically recalculated when predecessors are completed early or late:
  • Recalculate the Task’s End Date to reflect the Complete Date when a Task is completed early
  • Recalculate the Task’s End Date to reflect the Complete Date when a Task is completed laterecalcualte.png

Once one of these 2 options is enabled, as a consequence, Start Dates of dependent Tasks will also be automatically recalculated for all the boards within your Organization.

Use Custom Business Hours

Within the Scheduling tab, the Business Days setting is used to automatically calculate the duration, due dates, and lead/lag (days) of your Tasks according to your Organization’s working days. By default, that is set to MONFRI and schedules tasks around Monday through Friday, skipping weekends (but not public holidays).

The MONFRI setting is optional and when left blank, it will automatically schedule tasks around 7-day work days, or calendar days.

If your organization’s working days are not Mon to Fri, you can have Precursive adjust to your Salesforce Business Hours by entering the Salesforce Id of the Business Hours in the Precursive OBX Business Days field.
