Timesheet Entries for Review

Highlights

Potentially duplicate Timesheet Line Items, Timesheet Entries, and Activities are now visible in My Precursive, giving you the ability to review and resolve them directly.

What Changed

Previously, records identified as potentially duplicated were hidden or handled automatically. In some cases, what appeared to be a duplicate may represent a legitimate data pattern - so rather than making that decision on your behalf, Precursive now surfaces these records so you can review them and decide whether to merge, delete, or retain them.

How It Works

  • All potentially redundant Timesheet Line Items, Timesheet Entries, and Activities are now visible in My Precursive for review
  • An automated email report is sent summarising the number of flagged occurrences per year, so you have a clear picture of the scale before taking action

Enablement Guidance

  • Review the Timesheet Entries for Review article for guidance on how to interpret flagged records and the actions available to you
  • No changes are made to your data automatically - all decisions remain with you

Timesheet Concurrency Protection & Duplicate Prevention

Highlights

Precursive now prevents duplicate Timesheet Entries from being created when multiple saves happen at the same time, and provides clearer feedback when a conflict occurs.

What Changed

In certain situations - such as entering hours quickly across multiple rows, or logging time while background processes are running - the system could create duplicate Timesheet Line Items or Entries. These scenarios are now protected against. If a conflict does occur, you will see a clear error message explaining what happened, and your entered values are retained so you can retry without re-entering data. Double-clicking the Add Row button no longer creates duplicate rows either.

Accurate Planned Hours Rounding for Long-Duration Bookings

Highlights

Planned Hours on Timesheet Entries no longer appear as negative values when effort is distributed across long-duration Bookings with many working days.

What Changed

When a Booking spanned a large number of working days, rounding could cause distributed hours to slightly exceed the Booking's Planned Hours total - and the system would correct this by applying a negative remainder to the first Timesheet Entry, resulting in a negative value. This has been fixed.

How It Works

  • For example: a Booking of 6 Planned Hours across 229 working days previously rounded each day to 0.03 hours, giving a total of 6.87 hours - and corrected by setting the first entry to -0.84 hours
  • Daily hours now round down (0.02 hours/day), and the positive remainder is applied to the first Timesheet Entry - so the first entry shows slightly more than the others, but the total always matches the Booking exactly
