If you've arrived from the release notes or after receiving an email about redundant Timesheet Entries, you're in the right place. The first step is to install the Precursive Time Entries Reviewer package to check if any flagged records exist in your system.

Why It Matters

In some cases, historical duplicate Timesheet Entries can cause inconsistencies in your data, such as:

• Inaccurate Invoices – Actual Hours may differ from what was intended

• Misaligned Project Plans – Planned Hours could appear inflated or incorrect

• Reporting Gaps – Forecasts and reports may not reflect true project progress

We want to ensure your data is clean, reliable, and aligned for accurate project tracking and billing.

Identify the cases

Step 1: Time Entries Reviewer

To help you review these cases, install our dedicated reviewer package:

1. Login to your Salesforce instance.

2. Paste this link into your browser:

3. Select to Install for Admins Only and confirm that you acknowledge that you're installing a Non-Salesforce application.

4. Confirm by clicking on Install.

After the package is installed, you should have the Precursive Time Entries Reviewer application available in the App Launcher.

Step 2: Tag Potentially Redundant Cases

Run the following script in your Salesforce Developer Console to flag duplicates for review:

 

1. Open Developer Console from Setup Cog > Developer Console.
2. From the Developer Console choose Debug > Open Execute Anonymous Window (delete any content if it is there)
3. Copy and Paste following scripts and execute.

PTER_TimesheetDuplicateManager.markDuplicatedTimesheetLineItems();

PTER_TimesheetDuplicateManager.markDuplicatedTimesheetEntries();

PTER_TimesheetDuplicateManager.markDuplicatedActivities();

Note: These scripts do not change your existing data—they simply tag potential duplicates for visibility in reports and dashboards.

Step 3: Review and Resolve Cases

Once the cases are tagged as potentially redundant, this is time to use following reports, review the items and ensure their correctness.

Time Entries Reviewer Home

Open the Time Entries Reviewer Home to see summaries of flagged records. If no duplicates appear, great news—your data is already clean, and with PSX 1.90.10, duplicates can no longer be created.

If duplicates are found, here’s how to tackle each type:

Timesheet Line Items To Review

If the total amount of both Hours is correct, we recommend leaving these records as they are as they are not impacting any invoices, reports and forecasts. In case merging them will be needed, please contact us so we can help you review them.

• Review Planned Hours and Actual Hours

• If totals across duplicates are accurate, no action is needed

• If merging is necessary, contact our Support Team for assistance

Tip: Timesheet Line Item that was created due to concurrent operations will probably consist only of Actual Hours logged while other Actual Hours and Planned Hours will be correctly appearing on the Timesheet Line Item that was firstly created. 

Timesheet Entries To Review

• Check for duplicate Entries under the same Line Item

• These may have zero Planned or Actual Hours, if so, they can be left as-is if not impacting reports or invoices

• Contact Support for help if deletion is required

Activities with different Entries

• Often caused by concurrent operations (e.g., "Add Row" used at the same time as other processes)

• Usually show zero Planned Hours—review Actual Hours if present

• Can remain if they don’t affect reporting, otherwise contact Support to assist with removal

These records usually have zero Planned Hours and should not have Actual Hours but if they have, then Actual Hours are worth reviewing. In case all of these redundant Activities have zero Planned and Actual Hours, these can stay as they are not making any difference on invoices, reports or forecasts or can be removed if necessary. In case deleting or bulk merge of multiple cases will be needed, please contact us so we can help you clean it up.

Potentially Redundant Activities

• Potentially caused by logging time in multiple browser tabs simultaneously

• Duplicates may inflate Actual Hours, impacting invoices

• Review these and contact Support for clean-up if needed

These Entries are worth reviewing as in previous versions they were not appearing on My Precursive and they may lead to overbilled invoices. If you want to clean them up, please contact us so we can help you clean it up.
