Version 2.11
What's new:
Partner Workspace — Partner Workspace is a secure portal enabling external partners—such as systems integrators, contractors, and consultants—to manage projects they are delivering with you. Partner Workspace centralizes key delivery components including, project plans, milestones, tasks, RAID logs, health status, timesheets, and expenses to ensure smooth collaboration between internal teams and external delivery partners. Learn more here, or contact customersuccess@precursive.com to learn more about Partner Workspace.
What's improved:
New License Type for Partners — To support the new Partner Workspace a new user is identified as a Partner when: Contact and User are linked on the Resource record, User Type is not Standard, User is Active
Project Health Ratings — To simplify Health Ratings, we are deprecating the “Apply to Entire Project” feature. Health Ratings will now be applied directly at the Phase level.
Custom User Settings Mapped to Project Access Levels — To support the Private Sharing Model, Custom User Settings that previously restricted access to certain records have been replaced with Project Access Levels. This ensures a smooth transition and provides more granular control over Project-related data for each Participant. Learn more here.
What's fixed:
Enhanced Task Template Support – Improved handling of large and complex Task Templates, now supporting up to 500 tasks.
Project Budget Automation – Negative Opportunity Line Item quantities will no longer trigger automatic Project or Phase structure creation.
Subtask and Parent Task Sharing – Updated customer sharing rules to ensure sub-tasks can only be shared if their Parent Task is also shared. This prevents inconsistencies when granting customers access to tasks.
Expense Record Ownership – The Owner of an Expense record is now always a Resource, rather than the user who created it. This change improves consistency and aligns with recent sharing enhancements.
Editing Time Entry Settings for Public Phases – Users can now edit the “Allow time entry outside of bookings” setting when the Phase is Public in the Participant Edit modal.
Date Filtering in Resource Plan – Fixed an issue where Custom Filtering Fields based on Date fields were not working correctly in the Resource Plan.
Manual Upgrade Steps:
⚠️ The following manual upgrade steps are required:
Project Access Level Defaults – Project Access Level is a new object that is responsible for defining access on Project, Phase and all related records (and operations) for each Participant individually. It is recommended that you create Default Project Access Levels for each Role. Learn more here.
Project Health Page Layouts – With the “Apply to Entire Project” feature deprecated in this version, it is recommended to remove the field from the Health Rating layout, Health Rating header, and Health Rating related lists on both the Project and Phase layouts.
When upgrading, it is recommended to verify that the following Critical Updates have been successfully completed by navigating to Precursive HQ > Critical Updates.
Recalculate Task Sharing Logic Based on Task structure — In this version, sub-tasks can only be shared externally if their Parent Task is also shared. To enforce this rule for existing data, the post-install process includes logic to recalculate sharing flags across all Task structures.
Map User Settings into Project Access Levels on Participants — To align with the Private Sharing Model, Custom User Settings that restricted access to certain records have been replaced. A mapping system has been introduced to convert deprecated Custom Settings into Project Access Level records. This ensures a smooth transition and allows access to Project-related data to be managed individually for each Participant, providing greater control and flexibility. Learn more here.

Faster Task Completion When Logging Time — Marking a Project Task as Completed is now simpler when logging time. This allows tasks to be quickly marked as complete right after time is logged, streamlining the task management process and saving time.
Colored Labels for Timesheet Lines — The labels and colors for statuses displayed at the Timesheet Line level now match those shown at the Timesheet level. This ensures a clear and consistent representation of status colors, such as green for completed and Blue for Planned, and Red for Rejected.

Version 2.6
What's new:
Inactive Contributors — We’ve introduced a new feature that allows you to mark Contributors as “Inactive” on a Task. This is particularly useful when a Contributor who was initially assigned or who logged time against a Task is no longer actively working on it. By marking them as Inactive rather than removing them entirely, you can preserve historical data for accurate reporting while clearly displaying which Contributors are currently Active.
Magic Assign from Resource Plan — We’ve added the ability to launch Magic Assign directly from the Request Mode within the Resource Plan. This enhancement streamlines your workflow by allowing you to quickly access and utilize Magic Assign without leaving the Resource Plan interface, making Resource allocation faster and more efficient.
What's improved:
Mobile Timesheet — We’ve updated the Mobile Timesheets to include the latest enhancements from the desktop version, ensuring a more seamless and consistent user experience across all devices. How to Access Precursive Mobile.
Improved Control Over License Assignment and Consumption — We’ve introduced new options to give you more control over how licenses are assigned and consumed by users. You can now define the License Type assigned to each Resource, as well as specify the Product Modules that each user should have access to. While Precursive does not currently restrict access based on these license settings, it will validate that the permissions assigned to users do not exceed the access limits associated with their assigned licenses. This enhancement helps ensure that your license usage remains aligned with your organizational policies and compliance requirements.
Removal of Product Usage Analytics — In line with our commitment to privacy and security, we have removed the collection of product usage analytics within Precursive. This change means that we no longer collect any user-identifiable information, and no data leaves your Salesforce environment. This update underscores our focus on protecting your data and ensuring a more private and secure experience for all users.
Improved Contributor Limits — The limit for Contributors on a Task has been updated to focus only on Active Contributors. The system now supports a maximum of 5 Active Contributors per Task. Inactive Contributors do not count towards this limit, providing more flexibility in managing team assignments and resources.
What's fixed:
Improvement to the scheduling of background jobs (BuildBookingsFromBoardsBatch) to avoid Flex Queue Limits.
Resolved issue where a Successor Task is not scheduled if first Predecessor Lead/Lag is blank.
Resolved issue where adding or removing a dependency from Manage Dependency on the Gantt was not refreshing the view of the Gantt.

Manual Upgrade Steps:
✅ No manual upgrade steps required.
Version 2.5
New Features:
Magic Assign —Staffing your high-velocity Projects is now easier than ever with the new Magic Assign feature. With just one click, you can automatically assign the most suitable Resources to each Project. If you’re already utilizing Task-based Resourcing Mode, Magic Assign will swiftly help you find the best match for any Role or Task, ensuring that your Projects are staffed efficiently and effectively. Learn more about Magic Assign.
Baseline — We’ve introduced a new “Set Baseline” option at both the Project and Phase levels. This feature allows you to capture a snapshot of your current plan, including Task dates. Once a Baseline is set, you can easily compare your ongoing plan against this Baseline in the Gantt view, providing valuable insights into Project progress. You can update the Baseline at any time to reflect a more current snapshot, but please note that setting a new Baseline will overwrite the existing one.
Utility Bar Components — You can now add Timesheet, Expenses, and Approvals as Utility Bar Components within your custom apps. This enhancement allows for quicker access to these essential features, streamlining your workflow and improving efficiency by making them readily available in the Utility Bar of your Salesforce environment. Learn more about Utility Bar Components.
What's improved:
Tags are now Skills — To better reflect their purpose, Tags have been renamed to Skills. In addition to this change, you can now assign a Skill Level (ranging from 1 to 5) to each Resource. These Skill Levels can be utilized with the Magic Assign feature, allowing you to filter and match resources more effectively based on their expertise and proficiency.
Flexible Project Scheduling — To simplify Project scheduling, we’ve relaxed the validation rules that previously required Bookings to fall within the Phase timeline, and Phases to stay within the Project timeline. You can now schedule or move Bookings outside these ranges, providing greater flexibility in managing your Project timelines. However, the original Project and Phase schedules will still be visible for reference. Note: If you need to enforce these controls, you can add a Validation Rule. Additionally, new fields on the Phases and Bookings allow you to compare their dates for better oversight.
Kanban Filtering — We’ve introduced a new filtering feature on the Kanban board, allowing you to filter through all Tasks and Subtasks. This enhancement makes it easier to locate hidden Subtasks, ensuring you can quickly find and focus on the specific items you need within your Kanban view.
Manual Upgrade Steps:
✅ No manual upgrade steps required.
