About
From Precursive OBX v.16 and upwards, you can schedule the same Task to repeat from the Precursive OBX Tab. You can set frequency, interval, maximum occurrences to have Tasks copied and re-added to your Board after a set period of time.
The Frequency may be Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly. The interval is the space between each frequency, such as "1" for once a week, if the frequency is "weekly", or "3" for a 'monthly' frequency to have a Task re-added every quarter. To stop repeating a task, define whether to end after a set number of Occurrences or on a certain date.
Note - You can schedule Precursive Tasks to repeat manually or directly from a Task Template. Let's see how!
How to Schedule Repeat Tasks Manually
Follow the step below to schedule a Task to be re-added periodically:
- Click onto the Precursive OBX Tab, open the Board you want to work on and then click on the Task you want to repeat
- Open the right-hand side expanding pane to display the Task's details
- Click the dropdown arrow located next to the complete button and select Repeat
- Enter Frequency, Interval, Maximum Occurrences and End Date
- Save
Examples:
If you want the Task to repeat once a week, select Weekly and enter 1 in the Repeat Interval.
If you want the Task to repeat once every Quarter, select Monthly and enter 3 in the Repeat Interval.

The next recurring Task will be created only when the previous one is completed and it will be added to the Default list on the Board (please see List Types for more information). A double arrow icon
is displayed on the recurring Tasks to provide a visual indication that the task is a recurring task.
Note - You can also schedule a Task to Repeat by editing its record from the Precursive Tasks Tab. Click Edit and find the Section called 'Repeat'. Insert all the necessary information.
The Repeated Task checkbox will be checked automatically after the first occurrence and the Repeated Occurrences auto-populates after the first occurrence to show how many Tasks occurrences have been completed.
How to Schedule Repeat Tasks from a Task Template
If you have Salesforce Admin or Precursive Super User permission, you would also be able to schedule Repeat Tasks directly from a Task Template. Please see the relevant fields and follow the instructions you can find on our
Task Template Cheat Sheet.
