This article provides a manual for installation and setup of Precursive Connect which allows organizations to use Precursive PSX and OBX products together.
Before you start, learn what are the modes you can use in our Platform: Managed VS Independent Mode and what is good to consider how you want to use our tools: Managed Mode - Limitations & Considerations.

INSTALLATION

Follow the Install & Set up Precursive PSX guide to install and set up Precursive PSX.
Then,  Install Precursive OBX and follow the Assign a Precursive OBX License to Users & Assign a Precursive OBX Permission Set to Users to give users permissions.
Once that is done, you can install the Connect package.

ASSIGN PERMISSIONS

All users that will be using the whole Platform, including OBX, PSX and Connect need to be assigned to the Precursive Platform User permission set. 
 

CUSTOM SETTINGS

Precursive Platform gives you the freedom to decide how you want to resource your projects. You can use a default Resourcing Mode for all projects or set it up based on the type of the Project/Phase.
In case, you want to use one default mode for all of your projects, you will need to set it up in the Custom Settings.
Navigate to the Setup and then serach for Precursive Connect Settings. Set up one of the values in Resourcing Mode custom settings: MANAGED (for task-driven resourcing) or INDEPENDENT (for managing resources independently from the project plan). Then Save.
 

UPDATE PROJECT AND PHASE LAYOUT

Navigate to Precursive Project object and edit its layouts (the one that you use) to remove the Lightning buttons for Move and Shorten - those actions are not available when using the whole Platform.
Then, navigate to the Phase object and remove the Move Lightning button from the layout. Then add the Sync Bookings button which allows to refresh the resource plan in Managed Mode or create and refresh bookings based on the adjusted Project Plan in the Independent Mode.

UPDATE BOARD LAYOUT

Go to the Precursive Board object, edit its layout and add the Precursive Project and Phase fields. Consider also Adding Fields to Precursive Field Sets.

EMBED THE BOARD VIEW INTO THE PROJECT & PHASE PAGE

Go to the Precursive Project and Phase object and modify your Lightning Record Pages:

1. Add the Precursive OBX component
2. Enter the Lookup name “psx__Project__c” on the Project page and psx__Phase__c on the Phase object
3. Save your Lightning Record Page

 

ALIGN ROLES FROM OBX AND PSX

Roles in OBX and PSX should match to enable resource request allocation feature on Precursive Plan.

To update their lists in both apps, update the following:

For OBX: Setup >> Picklist value set >> Team Role
For PSX: Navigate to Precursive HQ tab >> update Roles

PRECURSIVE PLATFORM USER PERMISSION SET

Assign the Precursive Platform User permission set to users using both OBX and PSX.

OPT-OUT FROM AUTOMATIC UPGRADES

Make sure the Push-Opt-Out settings in Application settings is set to TRUE. Navigate to the App Settings, Save them and then check.
